NEW THIS YEAR: We have partnered with the Boca Raton Public Libraries who offered to provide

limited access to their Discover Studio and film editing software at the Downtown LIbrary specifically for anyone

interested in submitting a film...you do not need a library card. An experienced staff person

will be on hand 10:00am - 6:00pm on the following days to assist you!

Judges for 2017

Joe Menendez  (joemenendez.com)

Award-winning filmmaker, and South Florida native, Menendez is both a successful feature film director and a prolific television director/producer.  Menendez has directed multiple episodes of the one-hour drama FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: The Series for Robert Rodriguez and his El Rey Network, multiples of the new Amazon Series JUST ADD MAGIC and the Prequel Series plus the "uncensored" episodes for the 2nd season of HULU's hit drama series EAST LOS HIGH. His feature film credits include LADRONES (THIEVES), and  LADRON QUE ROBA A LADRON (TO ROB A THIEF), which opened at the time to a record-grossing opening weekend at the box-office for a Spanish-language film in the U.S.

Naqi Khawer (nnmediapro.com)

Naqi is a digital film graduate from Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and has proven his passion of creative filmmaking by writing, producing and directing several short films, recognized and awarded at international and domestic film festivals.
Naqi believes in succinct - bold approach in storytelling and guiding audience’s imagination to fuel the ideology of the concept.  He leads the creative side of N.N Media Productions.

 

 

Stacey Steele and Carl Rimi (team judges)

Stacey Steele has been entertaining crowds as a singer, actress and comic for over 20 years - with experience in everything from character acting and drama to comedy and improv, and from hosting fashion, award and radio shows to being a pageant queen and expert fitness instructor.

Stacey has toured the United States with various bands, traveled internationally with Sweet Adelines where she performed with the choir, as a soloist and in an award winning quartet. Now you can catch Stacey doing her Broadway review, Stacey Steele Live, for South Florida audiences with her father, violinist Sammy Weber.

 

Carl Rimi is an actor and writer, known for Adopted (2016), Love and Hostages (2016) and Before I Come Back (2016).  His credits include Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots, NBC, CBS, ABC Family and the hit television series Burn Notice.  Carl is currently working on Henri, a feature film along with Eric Roberts and Robert LaSardo.  He is also shooting GymBrats 2.0, a web series about wannabe actors who like to pass the time hanging out at their local gym. The show was created, produced and directed by Mr. Rimi and Ms. Stacey Steele.
