Science Playground

The Science Playground is a tri–level hands–on experience that features many interactive components demonstrating a variety of scientific principles for all ages.  Built to American Society for Testing & Materials standards, the playground is strong and safe, with a soft, impact-attenuating ground surface.  This surface has a wayfinding feature, allowing parents and children to pinpoint their exact location within the playground through identifying markings.

The inclusive playground features wheelchair accessible swings, slides, sensory walls, and an expanded climbing structure that allows for access to people of all ages and abilities, and greater visibility for parents and children alike. The updated splash pad showcases a variety of sea creatures, and there is a new train station-themed toddler play area.

Added inclusive equipment includes:  Oodle® Swing, OmniSpin® Spinner, Stand-Up Spinner, Roller Table, Quiet Nook, Sign Language Alphabet Board. The playground is located outdoors adjacent to Sugar Sand Park Community Center/Children's Science Explorium.
